Bi-fold Options

We pride ourselves on providing a high quality, bespoke service to each of our clients. Offering such a wide range of options allows our customers to end up with just what they want, but can sometimes elicit a lot questions at the start of the process. Questions like; is my project even feasible? What’s the most affordable way to produce the effect that I want? Is there a clever way of introducing bi-fold doors I haven’t thought of yet?

This is what we thrive on; working through new ideas with clients and finding imaginative solutions to their challenges. We love design.

The Corner Door
Almost every room in a house has a corner and it is rarely the most popular place to be. It’s usually the darkest area away from natural light and needs to be lit by artificial light in the day. With Origin bi-fold doors installed by Multifold, that corner can be transformed into a set of doors. Corner sets give you the possibility to change these dark areas into sources of natural light, which also act as a feature to wow guests. Corner sets come with the same options as normal bi-fold doors, reflectingthe bespoke nature of our products. Many corners in houses, especially exterior walls have supporting posts. These can be removed and replaced with floating posts creating a fully panoramic view. Corner sets are a great idea and increasingly popular with new extensions where there is a lot of control over design.

Size
A crucial aspect to consider in your bi-fold is the number of leaves and doors that make it up. The space to fill is completely made-to-measure so choose any size and Multifold Doors will fit; now you need to think how many doors and how many leaves. You could have a French window with two normal doors and then the leaves fold when pushed. You could choose to have just a single door to pop in and out of the garden then fold every leaf when necessary, or maybe a single door either end of the folding leaves to make access easier. The possibilities are endless. However, you must always take into account the amount of space the concertinaed leaves will take up. Too many folds, and the concertina will blight space and ruin the view. This is why it’s important to get the right amount of leaves for your bi-fold doors. Our experienced designers love solving the challenges of space, light and access with doors. We’re here to help.

The final touch
There is a huge selection of colours and finishes to choose from. Metallic colours are very popular, as is our range of Woodgrain finishes. These wood finishes contain the classic look and texture created by wood. The textures fit particularly well in period homes where wood frames are already a part of the fabric of the home. As well as metallic and wood we also have some collections ranging from our ‘Retro Collection’ based on 60’s and 70’s interiors to our warm, earthy ‘Tuscany Collection’. We even have a range based on Ralph Lauren colours; ‘The Hampton Collection’ (we will examine these colours and many more in future blogs). This is another opportunity for our designers to help you; we have years of experience choosing the right colour to match your home so we can help you find the perfect finish.
